Youth Ministries

Theme Verses: 1 John 3:16-18 “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”

Our Mission: At Calvary, our desire for our youth ministry is to develop a love for God in each of our teens. We want our teens to know Him personally, serve others selflessly, and grow together in faith. Rooted in the truth of 1 John 3:16-18, we aim to demonstrate God’s love through action, compassion, and unity within our church.

The Big Idea: What We Want Our Teens to Embrace

Love God Deeply – Pursue an authentic and personal relationship with God as Creator and Redeemer.

Discover Identity in Christ – Define who you are based on God’s Word and your relationship with Jesus.

Serve Others Wholeheartedly – Live daily to reflect God’s love by caring for those in need and building meaningful relationships.

Commit to Community – Belong to a vibrant body of Christ, fostering fellowship, accountability, and spiritual growth.

How We Do It: Weekly Ministries
  • Wednesday Nights: A time to come together for fun, worship, and a deep dive into God’s Word. Relevant, Bible-based messages help teens apply Scripture to real-life situations that they encounter in their daily lives.

  • Sunday Small Groups: These groups encourage open discussions, mutual encouragement, and practical steps for living out faith. Teens can:

    • Explore how to apply biblical truths.

    • Share spiritual challenges and victories.

    • Pray for one another.

    • Strengthen friendships centered on Christ.

  • S.P.A.R.K. Projects: Serving Others And Reflecting Kindness
    • Our teens are encouraged to get out into the church body and our community to serve with the abilities God has given them.

Youth Ministry Activities

Our activities are designed to balance fun, spiritual growth, and service:

Worship Together: Emphasize personal and corporate worship as an essential part of spiritual life.

Have Fun: Create safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experiences that foster genuine connections.

Make an Impact: Participate in service projects and outreach activities, helping teens live out their faith in tangible ways.

Teen and Parent Ministry Philosophy

Teens and parents of this age face many obstacles and opportunities: the obstacles involve navigating the cultural challenges at a time when the opportunities for fruitful ministry are enormous and ripe. In response to these obstacles and opportunities, the Youth Ministry at Calvary seeks to support our parents as they nurture their children/teenagers to live Christ-centered lives. We want to provide parents/children the encouragement, information, and insight needed to address the unique challenges of growth from childhood through the teen years and into adulthood.
